Beingteachersforhundredsofyoungsters,dowefeelproud?Ofcoursewedo.Wetakegreatpridenotonlyinnurturingtalentsforourcountrybutalsointakingontheloftiestcareerintheworld.Thus,forgenerations,wehavebeencomparedtoindustriousgardeners,lushgreenery,pavingstonesandmorecommonlytocandleswhichburnthemselvesoutwhilelighttheroadupforothers.However,todayIwilltellyouthatIdon’twanttobejustacandle.Doyouknowwhy?Formypart,duetoitslimitedlightscope,narrowedfocusandshortstayingpower,acandleisalreadynotenoughtodescribeateacher.Asweknowthatalongwiththe‘softland’ofourcountry’sreformineconomicsystem,therenovationofeducationalsystemisalsobeingcarriedoutlikearagingfire.Itwasunderthiscircumstancethatanewroundofreforminbasiceducationalcurriculumwasputforwardandimplementedatthebeginningofthisyear.Accordingly,newrequirementsonteachersandnewhopesonyoungsterscameout.Therefore,askeyroles,weteachershavebeentryingtoadjustourselvestomeetthecurrentneedsofthesociety.Inordertokeepupwiththetimeandendowourstudentswithenoughcompetencetotakeanychallengefromthesociety,Ithinkit’smoresuitableforourteacherstobeelectriclampsanddevoteourselvestoprovidingeverlastingbrightnessandvigortothenewgeneration.
