Ⅰ.Thetheoreticalbasis

AccordingtotheNewTeachingCorriculum,Ssplaythemainrolesduringtheclass.So,alltheactivitiesappliedinclassshouldfocusonthem.InordertohighlightSs`core-roleposition,mostoftheimportantknowledgeshouldbeacquiredthroughtheirownexperience.Theteacherwon`ttalktoomuch.Instead,he/shewillprovidepractisingopportunitiesasmanyaspossible.

Ⅱ.Understandingoftheteachingmaterial

Myunderstandingoftheteachingmaterialincludes3parts:thestateandthefunction,teachingobjectives,theimportantanddifficultpoints.

Firstly,let`sfocusonthestateandthefunction.Module3unit1ismainlyaboutdescribingsb/sthexistinginsomewhere.ItrequiresSstobeabletousestructure“therebe”.Besidesthenewwordsbeforegoingtothekeypart---grammar.

Thatisallfortheteachingmaterialandthenewteachingcurriculum,inordertofulfilltheteachingtaskofthislesson.Isetthefollowingobjects:

1.knowledgeobjective

Bytheendoftheclass,Sswillbeabletousethestructureof“therebe”toexpresssb/sthexistinginsomewhereandbeabletouseitsnegativestructure,askgeneralqustionsofthestructureandanswerthem.

2.abilityobjective

Step1.leadin(5mins)

Intheleadinstep.IwillaskSstolookaroundourclassroomandthenanswerthequestion“Whatdowehaveinourclassroom?”Thisquestioniseasyforthemtoanswerbecausetheyaaequitefamiliarwiththeclassroom.Duringthis,theywillsurelycomeupwithsomethingtheycan`tname.Atthistime,wewillmovetothesecondstep---vocabulary.

Step2.vocabulary(10mins)

Inthisstep,Iwllconnetthenewwordstotherealobjectsintheclassroomandschool.Asforthewordsaboutnumbers,IwillusethecardsIhaveprepared.Afterthat,IwillpointtodefferentobjectsintheclassroomandchangethecardsinmyhandtoaskSsspeakinEnglish“Whatisthis/that/it?”Ssareoftenactiveinthskindofactivity,becausetheyallwanttobethemostquicklyinreaction.Thisisaninterestingandeffetivewaytolearnnewwords.

Step3.grammarandtext(15mins)

Grammarandtextisthemostimportantpart.AsitisnewtoSs,Iwillgivethemsomecluesandexamplesbeforetheycanfindouttherulesthemselves.Forexample,Icansay“IhaveacomputerandIputitinmyroom.”ThenIconbinethese2sentencesinto1,usingthe“therebe”structure---Thereisacomputerinmyroom.ThenIwritethisgroupofsentencesontheblackboard.Afterthis,IwillasksomeSswhattheyhaveandwheretheyputthem.OtherSsexpressthesamemeaningwith“therebe”.Theycanpractiseaccordingtotheexampleandsoongetusedtothestructure.

Thisisthedeclaresentencestructureof“therebe”.Andnext,wemovetothenegativeform.Iwillgivethemasuppose---ifwhatweheardandwhatwejustsaidisnotture,wwecansay“Thereisnotacomputerinmyroom.”Thenwewillcarryonthepracticeasthedeclaresentencestructure.

Thegeneralquestionstructurewillbelearndinthesameway.OnethingIwanttopointoutistheuseof“some”and“any”.SswillmakemistakeswhenusingthematfirstbecausetheyarethesamemeaninginChinese.Itdeservesourparticularattention.SoIwillemphasisthat“any”isusedinnegativeandquestionformswhile“some”isusedinaffirmativeform.

Step4.discussandpractise(13mins)

Afterthemajorstep,IwouldlikeSstoworkinpairs.Iwillgivebothofthemtwodifferentpictures.Onewithkindsoffruitsonitandtheotherwithdifferentstationery.Neitherofthemwilllethis/herpartnerknowwhatisonhis/herownpicyure.Sothereisinformationgapbetweeneachpair.S1asksS2whatisonS2`spictureusing“Is/Arethere…?”ThenS2answersincompletesentences“Yes,thereis/are.Thereis/are+(number)….”or“No,thereisn`t/aren`t.Thereisn`t/aren`t(any/number)….”Whileasking,S1isrequiredtotakenotesashe/shewillhavetogiveareportafterthat.Thentheywillchangetheirasking-answeringrolesanddoitinthesamewayagain.Finally,wewillcheckwhethertheinformationtheyha

Step5.homework(2mins)
