下面是我申Nottingham和Edinburgh地理信息科学专业的草稿,算转专业吧,但是要说服对方,所以我找了些自动化(或者说我做的一些东西)与这个学科的共鸣点(虽然感觉纯粹就是在强拉亲戚关系),做个参考吧,希望有用.
中文稿:
我自2005年9月份起就读于国内一所211理工大学—XX大学,并将于明年六月完成四年的本科课程学习并电气学院自动化系取得学士学位。在大学的学习中,专业知识给了我很好的基础技能铺垫,而兴趣则给了我引导的方向,出于对地理信息专业的热爱,我无时不刻地关注着这个方向,并且努力将我所学与该专业结合。如今本科即将毕业,在此我特别申请赴贵校攻读地理信息专业的硕士学位。
在大学生活之前,我曾经到过国内的几座大城市,诸如深圳、上海、南京,我发现城市和发展均伴随着交通和民用基本设施的发达,我也发现在这些方面的管理与维护都需要大量的人工,比如道路交通信息的采集,生活用水用气的管理,我原以为随着自动化的发展能够有效地解决这些问题,于是选择了自动化作为我本科学习的专业,但后来,随着对自动化专业知识和地理信息科学学科的进一步了解,我发现自动控制装置的实现更多依赖于信息采集管理与数据分析建模,于是我又选择了自动检测作为自己的专业主修方向,并自修了离散数学、
数据库原理等课程,努力培养自己具备地信专业所需要的知识积淀,以求能够进入该方向进行深入学习。
本科期间,我努力学习了自动控制理论、传感器与检测技术、数字信号处理及控制系统仿真等课程,获取了所学专业方向扎实的基础,培养了自己作为一名工科学生应有的分析与建模能力,此外通过自修课程完成了包括语言程序设计、数据库和数据库工程师的国内计算机等级资格证书,所有的经历都培养了我快速渗入其他领域学习的能力,整个学习过程中,我逐步培养和完善了适合自身的学习方法,并在本专业的学习中得到了印证,在成绩上取得很大进步并获得奖学金。
通过学校的课程我了解到传感器在信息搜集中的广泛应用,并且通过参加系内举办的机器人比赛对传感器系统进行了深入了解,在为期半年的机器人设计中,我利用资料和实验研究掌握在现实中传感器信息采集情况的第一手数据,通过这次比赛,我和我的队伍对各种传感器,如光电码盘,光敏传感器,红外传感器等进行了更深层的了解和研究,通过对不同环境下的传感器进行测试建立了一系列的模型,并根据比赛中的实际情况进行了模拟和算法设计,最终取得了比赛的第二名。。出于对环境和能源的爱好,我又组织队伍以“太阳能电动自行车设计”为题参加学校的创新科技竞赛,籍此对太阳能电池系统进行深入研究,并了解到环境能源在以新科技中的应用。
在其他方面,我也极力拓宽自己的视野,兴趣作为我最好的老师,向往通才发展的个性让我积极参加学校的各种比赛并取得各种奖项,另外,还通过加入学生会进行工作使我获得了组织各种活动及管理和服务的技能。
我怀抱着学习的心态,希望得到贵专业的青睐,并能够有机会在享有盛誉的地理学院得到修学的机会以提高自己。我希望我能掌握到地理信息科学的前沿知识,并能够在未来进入环境管理及城市建设规划领域的工作。

water

power
supply
makes
their
resources
planning,monitoring,and
maintenance
much

ever
before.
Geographical
information
system
becomes
a
much
more
useful
tool
for
virtualization
on
any
resource
development
and
management.
That
encourages
me
to
continue
my
graduate
study
major
in
the
GIS
at
your
prestigious
School
of
Geography.
I
had
been
to
several
metropolitan
cities
like
Shenzhen,Shanghai
and
Nanjing.
I
noticed
that
these
cities
had
been
expanding
tremendously
on
mass
transportation
and
civil
facilities.
A
lot
of
resource
is
invested
in
management
and
safeguarding
to
collect,manage,organize,and
analyze
data
of
transportation
or
management
of
water
and
gas
supply.
I
believe
that
the
achievement
of
the
automatic
controlled-facilities
rely
on
the
management
of
the
environmental
information
collection,data
analysis,and
scenario
modeling
so
I
choose
automatic
management
as
my
major.
I
study
‘Discrete
Mathematics’,‘Data
Structure’,‘Database
Theory’,and
other
computer
knowledge
for
self
development
on
Computer
Science.
All
of
these
can
be
very
helpful
for
me
to
continue
my
adventure
in
the
field
of
GIS.
I
worked
hard
on
all
my
courses
including
‘Modern
Control
Theory’,‘Sensors
and
Testing
Technology
’,‘Digital
Signal
Processing’
and
’Simulation
and
CAD
on
Control
Systems’.
I
have
established
the
solid
academic
foundation,and
cultivated
the
abilities
of
analysing
and
modeling
that
a
science
and
engineering
student
need.
I
also
took
the
Chinese
National
Computer
Rank
Examination
Certificate
exams
on
Programming
Language
Design,Database,and
Database
Engineer
to
evaluate
my
study.
I
also
have
been
trying
to
shorten
my
learning
curve
by
modifying
my
study
strategies,have
made
great
progress
in
academic
studies
and
won
the
scholarship.
I
have
been
aware
of
the
gigantic
application
of
sensor
in
collecting
information.
When
I
joined
a
team
to
participate
the
3rd
Robot
Fire
Quenching
Competition
at
my
university,I
had
an
opportunity
to
acquaint
with
the
sensor
system.
During
our
half-year
research,we
gathered
the
data
collected
by
different
kinds
of
sensors,and
modeled
them
to
enhance
the
robot’s
functions.
After
numerous
testing
the
robot,we
won
the
runner-up
prize.
I
also
organized
a
team
to
join
the
University
Technology
Competition
to
build
a
‘Solar
Energy
Electric-driven
Bicycle’.
I
learn
a
lot
of
solar
sensor
and
energy
convection
related
knowledge
through
the
design
process.
I
was
responsible
for
the
part
‘battery
system
design
and
testing’.
I
also
helped
my
teammates
on
charging
current
converting
device
development,battery
control
and
electrical
engine
design.
All
these
experience
enhanced
my
enthusiasm
for
science
and
engineering.
I
sincerely
hope
that
I
can
have
an
opportunity
to
study
at
you
world-class
school
and
participate
in
fascinating
research
programs.
Hopefully,by
the
end
of
this
adventure,I
will
be
well
prepared
for
a
technical
career
in
environmental
management
and
